At Farmview it is our goal to breed healthy, happy companion dogs. We are a small hobby breeder, currently raising only one litter a year. We make every effort to produce puppies that capture the essence of the breed with an emphasis on health and soundness. All dogs in our breeding program complete all health testing recommended by the Boston Terrier Club of America and breed specific genetic testing. These tests are as follows:
BAER - Brainstem auditory evoked response (BAER) testing is an electro-diagnostic test used to evaluate the hearing of dogs, cats and other domestic animals
CAER - OFA CAER exams are ophthalmic examinations performed by American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologist (ACVO) Diplomates, to assess dogs for the presence or absence of observable hereditary eye disease.
Patellar Luxation - The patella, or kneecap, is part of the stifle joint (knee). In patellar luxation, the kneecap luxates, or pops out of place and can cause lameness in severe cases.
JHC - Juvenile hereditary cataracts are an inherited form of cataracts that commonly cause blindness in dogs by clouding the lens of the eye and affecting both eyes symmetrically.
